Community Animator

The Community Animator will be responsible for increasing social participation and engagement for low-resourced and/or isolated seniors through Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). They will facilitate supporting the health and well-being of seniors by collaborating with other community programs and resources to empower seniors to contribute to their communities by connecting them with resources.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience recruiting and engaging community members; coordinating and facilitating events
- Post-secondary education and/or lived experience in a well-being related field, such as community development, education, recreation therapy, social work, nursing or occupational therapy
- Provide Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector
- Community Development experience
- Proficient communication and collaboration skills; public presentation skills
- Vehicle required; valid Class 5 driver’s license and $2 million liability insurance
- Experience working with older adults and volunteers is an asset
- Have a clear understanding of inclusive, anti-oppressive practice
This position is a permanent full-time (35 hours/week) career opportunity. The starting salary range is between $47,500 - $52,444 plus 100% Employer paid Health & Dental plan and 5% matched Pension plan. Salary considerations are based on assessment of the successful candidate’s education, skills, previous experience and other factors. Sage offers an outstanding work life balance with 3 weeks of vacation to start, and generous sick leave accruals. Sage also observes 13 statutory holidays in the calendar year.
