Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our dental practice. This dual-role position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with a passion for patient care and administrative excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in dental and medical office environments, possess strong organizational skills, and be comfortable managing front desk operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records and dental software is highly valued. This role provides a dynamic work environment where you will support both clinical and administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage the front desk, including check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments efficiently using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist the dentist during procedures as a Dental Assistant
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Handle multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, confirm appointments, and address patient concerns
- Collect payments, process insurance claims, and manage billing procedures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sterilization of instruments and infection control protocols
- Manage correspondence, respond to emails, and perform general administrative tasks to support office operations
- Assist with inventory management of dental supplies and office materials
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Receptionist is preferred; experience in medical or dental offices is highly advantageous
- Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and general healthcare
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing multi-line phone systems and front desk operations
- Familiarity with dental software applications like Dentrix is desirable
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and provide outstanding patient service
- Certification or training in infection control protocols is a plus
