We are looking for a committed, hardworking, and responsible individual to join our team as the Fleet and Safety Compliance Manager on a full-time basis.
In this role you will be an essential part of the management team to ensure all company facilities, vehicles, equipment, and employees operate in accordance with all provincial, state, and federal regulations applicable to the company’s operations. A successful candidate will be able to help guide, lead, and train the organization’s staff and management in the safety and regulatory compliance procedures.
We are looking for a strong communicator who has excellent organizational and time management skills. You must be a team player who can operate independently with minimal supervision. You are comfortable in taking initiative and proactive in tracking, maintaining, and auditing the company’s fleet of vehicles, maintenance of facilities (warehouses and offices), and other company equipment (ie. Forklifts, Pallet-jacks, etc.). You research and keep up to date on changes to provincial, state, and federal health and safety standards. You will be in regular communication with internal operations staff, the executive management team, and third-party vendors to ensure projects are completed. The role requires some travel, including some trips to the company’s Seattle facility.
Job Summary:
· Track maintenance schedules and insurance renewals for the company’s fleet of vehicles
· Procure equipment, vehicles, safety supplies, and training materials
· Help complete small ad hoc vehicle and equipment repairs
· Ensure facility (ie. warehouses and offices) maintenance is kept up to date for safety and compliance requirements
· Ensure the company’s facilities are kept clean and encourage a safe working environment.
· Take charge and assist in contacting, meeting, and vetting third party vendors or contractors used by the company for facility, vehicle, and equipment repairs and/or replacements
· Report, improve, and be accountable for fleet performance KPI’s as tracked in our Samsara Telematics.
· Prepare, verify, and organize documents required for audits and inspections by various regulatory agencies
· Review and collect safety and maintenance records as per specific deadlines
· Complete statutory reporting for different regulatory agencies
· Maintain company logs for different aspects of operations and employee groups
· Lead by example in best practices for safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment
· Manage and drive operation, safety, and compliance meetings
· Send out safety and compliance reminders to employees
· Assist in reviewing and updating company safety policies based on changes in regulations
· Follow quality service standards and comply with company procedures, rules and regulations.
· Mentor, guide, and train employees in safety and compliance procedures
· Other duties may be assigned from time to time
Scheduled Work Hours:
As scheduled Monday to Friday. Some flexibility on shift times allowed.
Schedule may fluctuate based on operational needs and may occasionally require weekend or holiday attendance.
Required Qualifications:
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Proven ability to multi-task, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure to meet competing objectives.
· Post secondary Degree or Diploma, or alternative hands-on commensurate experience
· Previous experience in a similar capacity will be a significant advantage
· High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
· Knowledge of the MS Office suite (Office, Excel, Outlook)
· Flexible with the work schedule to meet the needs of the business
· Great organizational and time management skills
· Is a quick learner and able to keep up in a fast-paced environment
· Can pass a criminal background check
· Ability to cross the USA and Canada border
Compensation:
$65,000-$95,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience
