Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Countertop Lead Installer / Fabricator to oversee and execute the installation of countertops in residential and commercial projects. This role requires a strong background in construction, carpentry, and related trades, along with leadership skills to guide a team through complex installation processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, blueprint reading, and schematic interpretation, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for managing project timelines, maintaining safety standards, and delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate countertop installation projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines
- Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools and power tools with precision
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute installations accurately
- Prepare work sites by removing old surfaces, leveling surfaces, and ensuring proper support structures are in place
- Install countertops made from various materials such as granite, quartz, marble, or solid surface materials
- Perform caulking, sealing, and finishing touches to ensure a polished appearance
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure smooth workflow
- Maintain safety protocols throughout all phases of installation to prevent accidents or injuries
- Train and supervise junior team members on proper installation techniques and safety procedures
Skills
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, drills, chisels, and levels
- Strong background in construction trades including carpentry, plumbing, welding (preferred), flooring installation, tile laying, restoration work, and construction painting
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for precise installation planning
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing countertops effectively
- Experience with schematic interpretation related to construction projects
- Familiarity with the use of power tools and equipment specific to countertop installation
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Good communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members
