As a Welder at Apogee Steel Fabrication, a Ryerson Family of Companies, you will be responsible for prepping and welding various parts from commerical kitchen equipment to roof hatches.

This position is a temporary, 6 month contract position.

This position will work Monday through Thursday from 6:30am to 4:00 pm and Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm.

Roles and Responsibilities

Applies appropriate welding and fabrication processes to metals such as carbon steel, stainless and aluminum
Works according to the layouts, work orders and blueprints provided
Lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies. Position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring equipment and hand tools
Inspects completed work for confrormance to specifications
Observes all safety practices and procedures
Packaging of material to customer requirements
Operating a sit-down or side loader forklift to move material as needed
Proper completion work order confirmation in SAP
All other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school Diploma or GED required
Minimum 3 years of similar job experience required
MIG and TIG welding experience required
Welding Certificate required
Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
Mathematical accumen is required
Basic computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility

$30.89 to $32.00/hour. A starting rate higher than $30.89/hr is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
