Scope of Position
Reporting to the Field Support Manager, the Field Support Specialist will assist in supporting Vallen operations wherever gaps in coverage exist or project needs are identified. Primary responsibilities involve assisting in warehouse duties, site logistics, tool cribs and free issue inventory locations across multiple customer sites.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Customer Warehouse coverage duties including Shipping, Receiving and Marshalling
- Coordinate bill of ladings, customs documents and TDG compliance while ensuring all freight leaves site properly secured and able to be tracked effectively
- Accept site delivered material ensuring proper documentation, order accuracy and customer quality procedures are followed
- Picking, staging and put away of inventory ensuring accuracy and quality of on hand goods
- Site taxi services including delivery of parts, products or people to various locations at customer facility
- FlexTech & Vending coverage
- Organize & maintain customer inventory stocking locations utilizing Vallen's suite of FlexSupply technology including:
- Scanned order entry, picking/verifying orders, put away and housekeeping of VMI areas
- Technical support of all FlexStock equipment and software applications
- Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of FlexStock equipment
- Support of vending build center activities including internal machine builds and site implementations
- Ability to interact effectively with internal & external customers
- Tool Crib Attendant coverage
- Organize & maintain customer site inventory at shutdown or project operations including:
- Issuing product to end users while maintaining customer access compliance
- Inventory receiving and put away including managing overstock locations and cycle counts
- Tool and PPE inspection services as required
- Communication to site project team about stock outs, substitutions and inventory level adjustments
- Read, understand, and follow Vallen's health, safety, and environment policies and all applicable OH&S legislation/regulations
- Actively participate in Vallen's health and safety management system, including training, audits, assessments, safety meetings, and inspections
- Identify, control, and report workplace hazards including following WHMIS/TDG requirements and reporting near misses
- Report workplace injuries immediately and participate in any return to work programs or requirements
- Be fit for duty and physically capable of performing all required tasks
- Adhere to potential customer site access policies such as D&A, Fitness or Fit For Duty testing.
- Adhere to potential customer safety requirements including:
- Daily FLHA/PTA cards, safety meeting attendance, hazard ID card compliance and other site specific safety courses
- Overtime & Off-Hours work may be required from time to time.
- Cross Canada travel may be required.
- Housekeeping of workspace.
- Various other projects may be assigned by the Field Support Manager in support of Vallen or customer initiatives.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of related experience, preferably in a Sales/Distribution environment.
- 3-5 years of forklift experience preferred
