Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer experiences, managing transactions efficiently, and supporting sales initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organized, and have a passion for delivering excellent service. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or technical product demonstrations are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and support diverse clientele.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, credit card processing, and returns
- Manage cashier duties including scanning items, processing payments, and issuing receipts
- Provide product demos and technical sales support when applicable
- Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards on the sales floor to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Answer customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Assist with inventory management and organize merchandise displays
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed at all times
- Support team members with various store operations as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Multilingual skills (e.g., bilingual in English and another language) are a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, basic math skills, and cash handling procedures required
- Experience with product demos or technical sales is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, time management, organizational skills, and phone etiquette are essential for success in this role
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service standards
