Equipment Operator
Axis Vac is seeking safety- driven, reliable candidates to join our staff and help grow our successful business as we meet the needs of our customers. We are currently seeking seasonal and full time, professional Equipment Operators to join our team.
Equipment operators can be a varied job duty role. Experience with plow cat operations is required, as well as a 1A license would be a asset in the application but not a requirement.
Operator Requirements
- Must possess and exhibit a strong safety insight
- 2+ years previous heavy equipment operator experience (backhoe, trenchers, plows, track hoe, skid steer)
- First Aid, Fall Arrest, CSTS, H2S, WHMIS, TDG and Ground Disturbance preferred - can assist if needed.
- Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol test
- Critical thinking and mechanical inclination an asset
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be willing to work long hours outdoors all days of week.
- Must be willing to travel for short or long term out of town work
- Subsistence paid daily for out of town work
- Must have own transportation to laydown site
- Must have a valid license (preference given to 1A)
- Completing pre and post inspections on all equipment
- Ensure safe completion of project on time
- Analyze and interpret job specifications and provide direction as required.
- Using both hand tools and power tools to assist in work procedures
- Ensure that the HDPE (conduit) has been buried correctly and is working up to standard
