Scholars of Cole Harbour is seeking passionate and enthusiastic part-time High School Math and Science Teachers to join our team. Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Provincial teaching certification preferred.
- Candidates in Teachers College or university designation towards math and sciences are also encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience working with students is required.
- Excellent English oral and written skills.
- A passion to help students reach their potential.
- Exceptionally organized and high attention to detail.
- Ability to teach groups of up to 3 students.
- Proficiency in French language is an asset.
- Must be able to teach math or science up to grade 12, including the following subjects: Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, Data Management, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
Job Duties:
- Provide individualized instruction to each student, adapting to each student’s learning styles and strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide accurate reporting regarding student progress, work completion, work habits, behaviour, and attitude.
- Prepare teaching materials, when applicable.
- Prepare for each lesson by reviewing the curriculum and student assignments to be worked on each day before classes begin.
- Attend staff workshops and meetings.
- Complete administrative and other tasks, when required.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Provincial teaching credentials preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year teaching experience required.
Hours:
- Monday - Friday: 4:00 - 8:00 pm
- Saturday, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
