At Omega, we understand that behind-the-scenes care matters. Every person entrusted to us deserves dignity, professionalism, and proper care. We are looking for a skilled and dependable Trade Embalmer / Licensed Embalmer to support our growing mortuary services team in Saskatoon.
About the Role
This position is ideal for an experienced embalmer who takes pride in quality technical care, professional presentation, and respectful handling of the deceased. The successful candidate will provide embalming and preparation support on a trade, casual, or on-call basis, depending on operational needs.
This role requires someone who is confident in their technical abilities, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining Omega Mortuary Services's standards of care, discretion, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
Duties may include:
- Performing embalming services with care, skill, and professionalism
- Completing sanitary care, dressing, casketing, cosmetics, restoration, and other preparation duties as required
- Ensuring all decedents are treated with dignity and respect at every stage of care
- Maintaining accurate documentation and following proper procedures
- Communicating professionally with Omega management, funeral homes, and related service partners
- Supporting preparation needs for viewings, services, transfers, shipping, and repatriation
- Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the preparation room, equipment, and supplies
- Following all applicable health, safety, regulatory, and professional standards
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- A valid embalmer license, or eligibility to practice in Saskatchewan
- Previous embalming and preparation room experience
- Strong technical embalming skills
- Confidence with cosmetics, dressing, casketing, and presentation
- Knowledge of proper documentation, chain of care, and professional standards
- Ability to work independently and with discretion
- Strong attention to detail
- A calm, respectful, and professional presence
- Availability for casual, on-call, or trade work as needed
- A valid driver’s license is considered an asset
