We are currently looking for a hardworking, charismatic individual to join our team as a Customer Champion at our Mississauga, Ontario location.
The Customer Champion builds hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial hose assemblies to customer specifications and supports custom manufacturing services. They serve as a key point of contact for customers, sharing product and service information while entering sales orders and providing exceptional support. This role includes following up with customers, diagnosing issues, and helping ensure an outstanding customer experience that supports the continued success of UMI Group Inc.
Shift: Monday to Friday; between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers by phone or walk-ins
- Provide exceptional, attentive, and courteous customer service through phone, email, and in‑person interactions, ensuring customer needs are understood and addressed with appropriate solutions.
- Accept, enter, and manage customer orders from entry through invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assemble industrial and hydraulic hoses according to customer specifications.
- Support the business when needed by building hoses.
- Source, stock, order, ship, and receive merchandise, while maintaining effective inventory controls and performing inventory availability checks to meet on‑time and in‑full targets.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with internal and external customers, fostering trust and promoting products, services, and customer retention.
- Act as a knowledgeable expert on UMI Group’s products and services, serving as a liaison between customers and the technical team to review and input technical data.
- Provide customers with accurate pricing, quotations, and information on systems, parts, and repairs in coordination with the technical team.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, needs, and concerns, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded while aligning with departmental goals.
- Inform Territory Managers and Account Representatives of relevant customer situations when necessary.
- Monitor repair progress, schedule repairs and builds, and support the creation of Bills of Lading and delivery notes.
- Process invoices for customers and transportation providers, resolving discrepancies effectively.
- Support a positive work environment and company culture while maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
- Follow all procedures and safety protocols to ensure safe and consistent operations.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain as needed to meet customer demand.
- Seek opportunities to improve customer service quality and enhance operational efficiency.
- Travel to customer sites as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid Provincial Driver’s License
- Experience in the hydraulic and industrial hose industry, hydraulic systems, and/or fluid power systems (asset).
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using saws, crimpers, and other hand tools; basic electrical/electronics knowledge is an asset.
- Experience with inventory control, including maintaining inventory levels, organizing stock, and performing availability checks.
- Strong customer service experience with excellent communication skills (written and verbal); fluency in English required, French considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP, and CRM platforms.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, adaptable to a variety of situations.
- Experience promoting and selling products.
- Ability to receive and process cash, cheque, and credit/debit payments.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing and documentation.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for hands‑on work; ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
