One of our clients (Alhidayah Islamic School in North York, ON) is looking for a kindergarten teacher.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a relevant field from a recognized university
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a kindergarten or early childhood education setting
- Ability to generate a nurturing and supportive learning environment conducive to early childhood development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with young students and parents
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with Ontario's kindergarten curriculum guidelines
- Foster a stimulating and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Conduct ongoing assessments of students’ progress and development and communicate findings to management and parents
- Collaborate closely with fellow teachers, teacher assistants, and support staff to ensure the holistic development of each child
- Integrate play-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity and exploration
- Participate actively in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on early childhood education trends
Skills:
- Deep understanding of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Strong organizational skills to plan and manage classroom activities effectively
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing manner when working with young children
- Adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Ability to maintain a positive and engaging learning environment while managing classroom dynamics
