Reporting to the Forest Area Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for the warehouse floor operations of the Forest Area Warehouse and support for HTC Training Center and provincial HOIST program when training in Hinton. including purchasing, procurement, mobile equipment management and maintenance, receiving, storage, packing of kits, distribution and shipping of equipment, uniform components and other items for the Forestry Division and personnel. Duties will include supporting the Warehouse Supervisor to ensure complete operations are functioning effectively including of all Forestry Division warehouse stock such as TDG items and the creation and maintenance of the Safety Data Sheet program. This position will also be responsible for the supervision of seasonal OS3 positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process inventory while maintaining accurate records.
- Prepare, package, and ship equipment, supplies, and orders in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through storage, tracking, and inventory control processes.
- Support safe and efficient warehouse, yard, and equipment operations.
- Provide logistical and operational support to wildfire operations and internal clients.
This position plays a critical role in supporting Forestry Division operations by ensuring the efficient management of warehouse inventory, equipment, and logistics services. Through effective inventory control, procurement support, facility maintenance, and operational coordination, the Warehouse Assistant contributes to organizational readiness, service excellence, and the safe delivery of programs across the Forest Area. The position also provides leadership and guidance to seasonal staff while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, accountability, and customer service.
