Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) to provide on-site medical support and emergency response services at industrial and oil and gas project sites throughout BC. The ACP plays a critical role in maintaining a safe working environment by delivering immediate medical care, assisting with incident response, and supporting overall site safety initiatives.
Responsibilities
Emergency Medical Response:
- Provide immediate medical assessment, treatment, and stabilization for injured or ill personnel
- Respond to workplace incidents, emergencies, and medical calls
- Coordinate with external emergency services when advanced medical care or transportation is required
- Maintain readiness to respond quickly to emergencies at all times
Safety Support
- Assist with site safety monitoring and hazard identification
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
- Promote safe work practices and compliance with company safety procedures
- Support site emergency preparedness plans and response protocols
Medical Equipment Management
- Maintain and inspect all medical kits, supplies, and emergency response equipment
- Ensure all equipment is properly stocked, maintained, and ready for use
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient care and incident documentation
Training & Compliance
- Participate in emergency response drills and safety exercises
- Maintain required certifications and ensure training remains current
- Complete company required training programs and site orientations
Qualifications
- Valid Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) certification.
- Current registration/license with the provincial regulatory body
- Valid ACLS & CPR certification.
- Valid H2S Alive certification.
- Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- ·Ability to work rotational shifts at remote industrial sites.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Rotational work schedules depending on project requirements.
- Exposure to outdoor environments and industrial worksite conditions.
- Long shifts (typically 10–12 hours) in physically demanding settings.
Conditions of Employment:
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
- Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, and Common Safety Orientation (CSO) certifications.
- Completion of Phoenix DATS Training and New Hire Orientation.
- Completion of site-specific orientations and any additional safety requirements.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
