Join our dynamic outdoor recreation team as an Outdoor Tennis & Pickleball Coach, where your passion for sports and commitment to inspiring others come together! Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging tennis and pickleball lessons tailored to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced players ages 13+
- Lead group drills, individual coaching sessions, and competitive matches that promote skill development and teamwork
- Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to proper equipment use, court safety protocols, and behavior management strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation, sportsmanship, and personal growth
- Maintain equipment, court cleanliness, and safety standards to ensure an optimal playing environment
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff about lesson plans, progress updates, and upcoming events
Skills
- Proven experience in sports coaching with a focus on tennis or pickleball
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to motivate and engage participants of all ages
- Background in physical education or teaching children’s sports programs; experience working with students is highly valued
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to foster respectful and disciplined play environments
- Experience in childcare or youth programs helps create a welcoming atmosphere for young learners
- Ability to lead activities safely in outdoor settings while managing multiple responsibilities effectively
Program Structure & Schedule
- Afterschool Program:
- Runs September-August
- Must be available from 3:30 PM onward on weekdays (1-3 times per week)
