Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care for animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting.
Duties
- Provide daily care for all animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area by regularly cleaning and disinfecting kennels, play areas, and equipment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with customer service by greeting clients, answering questions, and providing information about services offered.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during interactions with staff and clients.
- Support the team with administrative tasks as needed, including record keeping and scheduling appointments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (lifting up to 50 pounds).
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and welfare.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
