We are currently looking for an experienced, decisive, and results-driven Shop Lead to lead our repair shop, mentor our technicians, and manage daily service operations. For the right candidate, this role offers a clear path for advancement into a Shop Foreman position.

THE ROLE:
As the Shop Foreman, you will be the engine of our shop floor. You’ll split your time between supervising daily work, managing shop workflow, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring our high standards of quality and workmanship are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a ticketed Heavy-Duty Technician who knows heavy trucks inside and out—including diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and air brakes. Hydrovac experience is a bonus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Supervision: Lead, mentor, and direct a team of heavy-duty technicians and apprentices; foster a positive, productive team environment.
- Workflow Management: Assign work orders, schedule repairs, manage turn-around times, and adjust priorities on the fly to meet fleet or customer deadlines.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Serve as the resident expert for complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, high-pressure water, and vacuum blower diagnostics.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to ensure high standards, proper repairs, and compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines before equipment leaves the shop.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce shop safety procedures, conduct regular toolbox talks, and maintain a safe, clean working environment.
- Parts & Inventory Coordination: Work closely with the parts department and service advisors to track component needs, minimize downtime, and ensure required parts are on hand.
- Customer & Service Communication: Interface with service writers or management to provide accurate estimates, technical updates, and repair timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSING:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Journeyman certification).
- Licensed Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) Inspector.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract (Class 1 or 3 commercial license is an asset)
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a service shop environment.
TECHNICAL & COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Strong diagnostic proficiency in diesel engines, powertrains, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and air brakes.
- Proficient computer skills (experience with shop management software, diagnostic equipment, and basic office applications).
COMUNICATION & LEADERSHIP:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly direct technicians, collaborate with management, and converse with customers.
- Proven ability to manage shop workflow and make confident operational decisions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & APTITUDE:
- Good vision, hearing, and physical stamina required to inspect equipment, perform diagnostics, maneuver around heavy machinery, and thrive in a fast-paced shop environment.

- Class 1 or 3 Commercial license
Shift: Monday to Friday with occasional weekends. Overtime available.
