Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and timely food preparation
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including cooks and food handlers, to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, and plating to uphold consistency and presentation standards
- Enforce food safety protocols, proper food handling procedures, and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations
- Lead team members through interviewing, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated workforce
- Collaborate with restaurant management on inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Handle customer service issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and positive dining experiences
Skills
- Proven experience in food service environments with strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and serving standards
- Supervising or team management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team under pressure
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, food handling procedures, and sanitation practices
- Effective communication skills for interviewing new team members and providing clear instructions during shifts
- Previous restaurant management experience is highly valued; barista or hotel experience is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
