About the role
- Leads the identification and qualification of opportunities, domestically, for the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Business Area in Canada

Develops and maintains a consultative and informed relationships with external and internal customers to understand military and commercial related opportunities
- Will work externally across the greater RMS organization supporting all Lines of Business (LOB) including working with adjacent LOBs in their areas of Command and Control (C2), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Sensing Systems
- Shared accountability to shape and win new business through a balanced focus on customer value and ensuring customer requirements are understood

Develops and leads capture strategies including business solutions and resource allocations (personnel, financial, technical) for pursuit of opportunities
- Identifies potential customers, conducts competitive assessments, and assesses Position-to-win (Ptw). Serves as a strategic innovator to bolster Lockheed Martin RMS as a key node in the Canadian Defence industry ecosystem

The successful candidate will initiate and participate in bid and proposal activities and deliver executive-level presentations on new business opportunities, supporting capture teams in developing opportunity-specific win strategies as part of proposal development and capture execution
- Has responsibility to lead and integrate into the assigned cross-functional team activities for the duration of a business pursuit
- Serves as relationship manager with potential teammates and subcontractors
- Represents Lockheed Martin at customer meetings, tradeshows, and conferences
- Keeps informed about developments in the government, military, economic, scientific, political, industrial, and international fields as they apply to the organization's future business plans
- Gathers data on competitors and analyzes their strategies, prices, and method of operation
- Collects and maintains information on the requirements, organization, budget and preferences of customers and competitors
- Organizes information to assist in analyzing future products and makes recommendations for the development of new products or services

Leads collation of RMS strategic outlook data that informs corporate-level financial planning process.
What you bring to the role
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field

Relevant industry experience – at least Five years in Defence sector with Land Domain C2 expertise

Experience of 5–7 years in Business Development (BD) or related strategy role; at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity

Core BDt skill set including strategic market analysis, opportunity assessment & qualification, customer engagement planning, negotiation and deal structuring

Outstanding interpersonal skills suitable for managing relationships with high levels of authority
-
Excellent verbal & written communication; ability to present complex ideas to internal executives and external executive customers/partners

Demonstrated ability to own decisions and deliver on commitments

Willingness to travel up to 25 % of the time

Proven ability to compile impactful thought papers that create and develop business growth concepts

Highly effective in a multi-task environment.

Salary Range
$136,000 - $178,500
