Job Title: Level 4 – Maintenance Trade Certified
Job Summary:
The Level 4 – Maintenance Trade Certified role is a senior trade position responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and facility systems.
This role is trade-specific (Mechanical or Electrical) and is expected to work independently, lead complex repairs, and support reliability improvements across the plant. The position also plays a key role in supporting apprentices and driving strong maintenance practices on shift.
Responsibility:

Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime

Complete preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities
-
Diagnose issues using drawings, schematics, and hands-on troubleshooting
-
Lead complex repairs, equipment rebuilds, and installations
-
Identify equipment improvements and support implementation
-
Support daily maintenance priorities and shift coverage as required
-
Mentor apprentices and support development of junior team members
-
Work with production, automation, and contractors to complete work safely and efficiently
-
Maintain accurate records of work completed and updates to equipment
-
Complete fabrication, installation, or system modifications within trade scope
-
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and working at heights
-
Maintain 5S standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
-
Complete required in-house training (forklift, crane, MEWP, etc.)
-
Support overtime, call-ins, and off shift support as required
-
Other duties as assigned
Academic/Educational Requirements:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship and certification in one of the following:

443A – Industrial Mechanical Millwright
-
309A or 442A – Industrial Electrician
Required Skills/Experience:
4+ years of industrial maintenance experience within trade

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability on production equipment

Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
-
Experience with preventative maintenance programs
-
Hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and systems relevant to trade
-
Exposure to automation, PLCs, or robotics is an asset
-
Able to work independently and take ownership of work
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Knowledge of applicable safety and regulatory requirements
