We're hiring full-time shop builders to join our growing team. Whether you're a seasoned crew lead, an experienced builder, or an entry-level apprentice ready to learn the post-frame trade — we want to hear from you.
Got a full crew of your own? Even better. Keep your team intact and run your own builds under the WBYS banner with steady work coming in year-round. Or join one of our existing crews as an individual builder — we'll plug you in where your skills fit best.
We Build Your Shop Inc. is a Manitoba-based post-frame and steel shop builder serving farmers, contractors, and businesses across the prairies. We specialize in post-frame, stud-frame, and OsBlock construction — shops, barns, barndominiums, and custom agricultural buildings.
Positions Available
CREW LEAD — Experienced builders who run the build SHOP BUILDER — Carpentry, post-frame, and steel experience APPRENTICE — Entry-level with some trades background, ready to learn
What You'll Be Doing
- Frame and erect post-frame, stud-frame, and OsBlock shop buildings — trusses, walls, roof, doors, and the full envelope to engineer-stamped spec
- Bring your whole crew and run your own builds under WBYS, OR join one of our existing crews as an individual builder
- Build across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Northwestern Ontario — local jobs and out-of-town projects available with lodging and travel covered
- Lay out, plumb, square, and finish every build to a professional standard
- Operate skid steers, telehandlers, scaffolding, lifts, and power tools safely and confidently
- Work alongside a tight, accountable crew that backs each other on every build
What You Bring
- Experience: Shop, barn, or ag-building framing experience — OR entry-level energy with some carpentry, farm, or trades background and a real hunger to learn the post-frame trade
- Team-first mindset: You show up, work hard, back your crew, and don't bring drama to the build site
- A crew of your own? Even better — we want to talk
- Valid Class 5 driver's license required; Class 1 or 3 is a strong asset
- Physically capable — comfortable lifting, climbing, working at heights, and putting in honest days in prairie weather
- Your own tools, boots, and PPE that match the trade — we supply the rest, and we don't cheap out on equipment
