Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Inside Sales Representative with a strong background in new and used heavy truck sales. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of industry experience, a proven ability to close deals, and confidence in both inbound and outbound sales efforts. This role focuses on managing incoming inquiries, generating new business through cold outreach, and building long-term relationships within industries such as the construction and building supply sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound sales inquiries via phone, email, and online channels, providing prompt and professional responses
- Qualify leads, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate new and used heavy boom truck or truck-mounted forklift solutions
- Conduct outbound cold calls to our equipment-selected industries to generate new business
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through consistent prospecting and follow-up
- Present quotes and product information
- Negotiate pricing and close sales to meet or exceed monthly and annual targets
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory, specifications, and market trends
- Accurately document all customer interactions and sales activities in CRM systems
- Develop long-term relationships to drive repeat business and referrals
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in new and used heavy truck sales (inside or outside sales)
- Strong knowledge of heavy trucks (engine, transmissions, axle capacity and configurations, etc.), equipment specifications, and industry applications
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience making high-volume cold calls and developing new business
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships within company-related industries, such as the construction, transportation, or building supply industries
- Experience with financing, leasing, and trade-in processes
- Familiarity with market trends in heavy equipment and trucking
