Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a compassionate individual who is comfortable working with patients of all ages, including children, and has a strong understanding of dental practices and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive dental practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as ClearDent.
- Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in the treatment area to adhere to infection control protocols.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently in collaboration with the dental receptionist.
- Support orthodontic procedures when necessary, including assisting with appliances and adjustments.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive patient experience and smooth office operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures, with a focus on patient care.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is preferred for working with younger patients.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Competence in using dental management software such as ClearDent for record keeping and scheduling tasks.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records and treatment plans.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and staff members.
