Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Moldmaker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling molds used in the manufacturing process. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Moldmaker will play a crucial role in ensuring that molds meet precise specifications and quality standards. Must be eligible to legally work in Canada.
Duties
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models.
- Build new moulds as per specifications
- Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools
- Make engineering changes as per specifications
- Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computerized numeric control (CNC) tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, bore, grind or otherwise shape work piece to prescribed dimensions and finish
- Verify machined parts for conformance to specification using precision measuring tools.
- Machine, fit and assemble parts to make metal moulds for plastic injection moulding or other production processes
- Repair existing moulds
- Inspect and test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
- Troubleshoot and repair manifold systems
- Experience with CNC mill and EDM, Gibbs Cam programming.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years Mold making experience
- 431A Mouldmaker Certificate
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Basic math skills
- Must have good English communication skills both written and oral
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping of mould repair/servicing logs
