We are a local group of cafes catering to the downtown working community as well as a growing residential base. With almost 2 decades of service to our community, our cafes enjoy a dedicated clientele who come for our hospitality & consistent service as well as a quality product. We offer quality morning & mid day fare, both for here & to go, with a focus on offering the best possible value. This is a counter service environment with a very successful coffee operation working in partnership with our food sales.

Weekend availability is essential.
Wage Range to start, based upon experience. From $19 per hour plus a generous hourly top up from the tip pool. Staff discounts & monthly give card allowance.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with food, but also looking for greater customer engagement. Experience in food handling & preparation in a cafe environment is essential. The position suits someone w/ a consistent employment history. Experience in customer service is an asset as this is a unique opportunity in an open prep space that provides plenty of opportunity for positive interaction with our guests. This role offers the individual a real opportunity to be actively engaged with our customers.
```Duties```
- Responsible for the preparation of food items for cooking or serving
- Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications as directed
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes
- Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist as necessary with counter service
```Skills```
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environment essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, baking and food preparation methods
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- POS experience in a cafe setting would be ideal
