We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Mine Operations Superintendent. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out position and will be based in Labrador West, NL. This position will follow a Monday-Friday schedule. The Mine Operations Superintendent will be responsible for the 4 operations shifts of the mine and report to the Mine Manager. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in open pit mining. The Mine Operations Superintendent will oversee the day-to-day activities of Mine Operations Supervisors and manage key operational functions within the mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing budgets, setting performance targets, and ensuring the execution of projects aligns with safety, quality, and cost objectives. This role includes full oversight of new equipment selection and continuous monitoring of key performance indicators to improve process efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. This position also is the primary leader to identify training opportunities for hourly and supervisory personnel and works directly with training and Human Resources to execute personal and professional development.
Job Responsibilities:

Oversee daily activities of Mine Operations Supervisors, Mine Dispatchers and frontline Mine Operations employees.

Develop budgets and performance targets for the department.

Direct and coordinate the execution of projects and operational plans to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.

Manage the selection of new equipment for the mine.

Continuously monitor key performance indicators to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.

Complete performance management tools and evaluations for direct reports.

Ensure compliance with the collective agreement guidelines.

Promote teamwork, high performance, and environmental stewardship throughout the operation.

Provide ongoing support and constructive feedback to the team to drive continuous improvement.

Communicate effectively to keep the team informed of issues or changes.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:

Post secondary education in a related discipline.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
