ABOUT THE POSITION
We are currently seeking an experienced Shipper - Automotive Forklift Driver to join our client’s team on the night shift.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Operate assigned mobile equipment, including forklifts and tuggers, safely and in accordance with all safety regulations.
- Follow all work instructions and safety procedures for assigned operations.
- Supply manufacturing areas with raw materials, parts, supplies, and dunnage to maintain production uptime.
- Ensure all materials and finished goods are stored safely in designated areas and properly labeled with required documentation.
- Scan items and packages while using RF Scanners
- Maintain empty bin and rack locations to support production requirements.
- Ensure products are used and distributed according to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Perform inventory counts as required and maintain accurate storage of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods.
- Complete all required documentation, including forklift checklists.
- Participate in physical inventory counts.
- Ensure all material handling equipment is properly maintained.
- Report any incidents involving contact between equipment and barriers, walls, equipment, or personnel.
- Complete pre-shift inspections before operating equipment.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections, maintenance, and safety checks.
- Report any unsafe conditions, defective equipment, or missing protective devices that may pose a safety risk.
REQUIREMENTS / CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Must have experience using RF scanners.
- Valid forklift certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and exercise sound judgment.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
- Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and frequent interruptions
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in varying temperatures
- Overtime may be required
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
SCHEDULE:
- Full-Time (Night shift time – 10pm – 06am)
