This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 1 day per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Lead Quality Strategy & Execution: Define and maintain test strategies and test plans across functional, integration, API, and end-to-end testing for large-scale systems.
- Test Design & Management: Create, review, and maintain high-quality test cases, test scripts, and traceability to requirements; ensure effective coverage and risk-based prioritization.
- API Testing: Perform hands-on API testing using Postman, including test suite creation, parameterization, environment management, and automation where applicable.
- Observability-Driven QA: Use Splunk and/or Argo CD insights to search, analyze, and visualize application logs to validate functionality, troubleshoot defects, and support integration and API testing.
- Metrics & Continuous Improvement: Define, track, and report QA metrics (e.g., defect leakage, test coverage, cycle time, pass rate) and drive continuous improvements in QA processes, tooling, and standards.
- Team Leadership: Guide, coach, and motivate cross-functional QA contributors (onshore/offshore) to deliver on scope, quality, and timelines.
- SDLC Methodologies: Champion best practices across Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, ensuring the right test approaches are applied to each delivery model.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Program Managers and key stakeholders to align release scope, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure readiness for production.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify and escalate obstacles, risks, and quality concerns; drive action plans and provide regular status updates to Program Managers.
- Defect Management: Oversee end-to-end defect lifecycle—triage, prioritization, root-cause analysis, and closure—with clear communication and traceability.
- Data Validation: Execute back-end/database validation with SQL queries to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. 3 to 6 years experience in Software testing in enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
2. Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
3. Hands-on experience using Splunk/Argo CD to search, analyze and visualize application logs for functional, integration, and API testing.
4. Strong leadership: Ability to guide and motivate cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and timeline.
5. Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum and Waterfall testing methodologies.
6. Experience creating and maintaining Test Strategies, Test Cases and scripts, as well as Test Reports.
7. Continuously monitor and improve QA metrics, tooling, and processes.
8. Proficiency in SQL queries for back-end/Database testing.
9. Experience in Test Management tools like JIRA, Confluence.
10. Work closely with Program Managers and stakeholders across project team to ensure overall project delivery from Quality Engineering perspective.
11. Identify obstacles or risks that may impact a project's timeline or success and provide regular status updates to the Program Manager.
12. Comfortable working in a self-guided manner with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your own time efficiently, without direct oversight.
13. Knowledge on cloud technologies will be an added advantage .

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$115,000. This role is an existing vacancy."
