Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Traffic Controllers to manage and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at construction sites, roadworks, and other locations where traffic control is essential. The ideal candidates will ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic while maintaining compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines. This role is crucial for minimizing disruptions and enhancing safety for both workers and the public. Our office is located in Chilliwack, BC.
Duties
- Monitor and control traffic flow to ensure safety at work zones.
- Set up and dismantle traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and construction crews to provide clear instructions.
- Respond to any incidents or emergencies promptly while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve traffic management strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any issues encountered.
Skills
- Drivers license and Reliable transportation is a must.
- Willing to travel. Our sites are all over the lower mainland
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to the public and team members.
- Must be proficient in English both written and spoken.
- Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations on-site.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all safety measures are followed.
