Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with safety regulations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient logistics management to support our company's operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local Vancouver Island freight deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper securing of freight and adherence to traffic laws.
- Assist with warehouse duties related to freight handling and storage when required.
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- commercial driving, preferably with freight transportation.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including forklifts.
- Experience with automotive repair or basic vehicle troubleshooting is a plus.
Pay: $28.00-$31.00 per hour
