Northline Energy Services is seeking skilled, safety-focused Journeyperson Powerline Technicians to join our growing team. As part of our organization, you will help build, maintain, troubleshoot, and restore electrical infrastructure across Ontario. Our work includes overhead and underground distribution systems, substations, industrial facilities, and specialized utility projects. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
- Construct and rebuild overhead distribution lines, including framing and assembly of wood and steel structures.
- Install conductors and underground cable using appropriate pulling, tensioning, and cable installation equipment.
- Operate and maintain line construction equipment, aerial devices, and specialized powerline tools.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work packages to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Perform switching, testing, and commissioning activities within the scope of training and qualifications.
- Mentor apprentices by sharing knowledge, promoting safe work practices, and supporting their development.
Safety & Quality
- Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to safety by following all company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in daily tailboard meetings, hazard assessments, safety observations, and incident reporting.
- Deliver quality workmanship that meets project specifications while identifying and communicating deficiencies for prompt resolution.
- Maintain accurate documentation and assist with inspections, testing, and client walkthroughs as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Red Seal Journeyperson Powerline Technician certification or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience.
- Strong knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution construction and maintenance practices.
- Ability to recognize hazards, assess risk, and consistently apply safe work procedures.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative crew environment.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, to meet project requirements.
- Physically capable of performing demanding field work, including climbing, lifting, and working in challenging weather conditions.
Pay: $59.46-$71.35 per hour
