Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool & Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in production processes. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD software, and experience with CNC machinery to ensure high-quality tooling that meets exact specifications. The Tool & Die Maker will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
Duties
- Design and develop tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAD programs.
- Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and other machining equipment to produce precise components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication of tools.
- Utilize hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances during manufacturing.
- Perform machining operations such as milling, turning, drilling, welding, and assembly of tooling components.
- Maintain detailed documentation of tool designs, modifications, and repairs following manufacturing standards.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues during production runs to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine tool designs for manufacturability and durability.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality control procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker or in a similar machining/manufacturing role.
- Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and related equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using hand tools, welding equipment, calipers, and schematics reading.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, assembly, welding, and troubleshooting tooling issues.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong math skills for precise measurements and calculations related to tool design.
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards and safety protocols in a machine shop environment. Pay: $37.85-$43.57 per hour
