We are currently seeking a dynamic and energetic EMG Technician to join our neurology team at our 85 Church Street location.
Qualification & Skills
Required Education:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Formal training or certification in electrodiagnostic technology (REPT, CNIM, or R.NCS.T. preferred).
- BLS and CPR certifications.
Required Experience:
- At least 2–3 years of hands-on, independent experience performing nerve conduction studies.
- Demonstrated experience in a neurology or specialty clinical setting.
Required Skills:
- Technical Proficiency: Expert use of Cadwell EMG systems and preprogrammed protocols.
- Clinical Knowledge: Proficiency in sensory/motor NCS, F-wave, H-reflex, and repetitive nerve stimulation.
- Effective Communication: Ability to explain complex procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Strong Computer Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Detail Oriented: High level of accuracy in data collection and electrode placement.
- Professionalism: Ability to work collaboratively with Neurologists during needle EMG examinations.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical artifacts or equipment issues in real-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Nerve Conduction Studies: Perform sensory and motor NCS for upper and lower limbs based on clinical presentation.
- Specialized Diagnostics: Carry out blink reflex studies and repetitive nerve stimulation for neuromuscular junction disorders (e.g., Myasthenia Gravis).
- Physician Assistance: Assist the Neurologist during needle EMG exams, including patient prep and real-time technical support.
- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, clean, and maintain Cadwell EMG equipment and ensure all medical supplies are stocked.
- Patient Coordination: Communicate with patients and physicians to set appointments and provide follow-up information.
- Documentation: Log results accurately and ensure all studies are uploaded to the patient’s electronic record.
- Clinic Flow: Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative to ensure the neurology suite remains organized and punctual.
Required Languages:
- English (fluent speech, writing, listening, reading).
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
