This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new hotel from day one and help build a culture of exceptional guest service.
As a Front Desk Agent, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a key role in delivering a warm, welcoming, and professional experience. You will assist guests with all front desk functions while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and customer service.
Availability:
Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a friendly, professional, and positive attitude.
- Complete guest check-ins and check-outs accurately and efficiently.
- Handle guest inquiries, requests, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Process payments and complete daily cash balancing procedures in accordance with hotel policies.
- Operate the Property Management System (PMS) accurately and ensure all guest transactions are posted correctly.
- Manage individual and group reservations, rooming lists, and monitor room inventory.
- Understand room types, rate plans, promotions, and packages while maximizing revenue opportunities through upselling.
- Assist with Night Audit coverage when required.
- Monitor guest accounts and ensure compliance with hotel credit policies.
- Coordinate guest requests with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Breakfast, and other departments.
- Maintain current knowledge of hotel services, amenities, local attractions, directions, and area information.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk, lobby, and back office.
- Communicate effectively with all departments to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Report maintenance concerns and unusual guest situations to management.
- Assist with Front Office projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer service experience.
- Previous hotel front desk experience is considered an asset.
- Experience using a Property Management System (ChoiceADVANTAGE or other hotel PMS) is an asset.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with exceptional guest service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and dependable with the ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Tourism, Hospitality Management Diploma, or related post-secondary education is considered an asset.
