Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Two (2) Food Service Supervisor (Shift Leader) to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a background in food industry operations. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, managing customer interactions, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations. Previous experience in restaurant management, food handling, and team supervision is preferred but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth workflow and a high-quality customer experience.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking, serving, and food safety procedures.
- Manage POS transactions using POS systems, ensuring accurate cash handling and billing.
- Oversee food-handling practices to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Interview and onboard new team members; provide ongoing training to develop skills in food service, hospitality, and customer relations.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to uphold excellent customer service standards.
- Enforce restaurant policies, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards across the establishment.
- Collaborate with management on operational improvements and staff scheduling.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within restaurant or hospitality settings is preferred but not essential.
- Strong supervisory experience with team management capabilities.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and supervise staff effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry.
- Experience with restaurant management, including interviewing new staff and managing restaurant operations.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
