We are seeking a full-time Landscaper to run a crew in the Vancouver area. We are looking for someone experienced and with an eye for detail. Terms are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay is $26-30 per hour depending on experience and management abilities. Benefits are included.
Job Summary
- Run a crew of 2-4 people and be responsible for management of staff, daily project tracking, reporting hours, operational planning and liaising with clients.
- Take care of established lawns by weeding, removing thatch, aerating, fertilizing and mulching, application of fertilizers
- Attend to weeding weeding, top dressing and prepping garden beds.
- Plant, tend and remove annual seasonal plants and bulbs
- Remove fallen leaves from lawns, garden beds, driveways and walkways
- Operate gasoline-powered lawnmowers, line trimmers, leaf blowers, mechanical hedge trimmers, power washers, and chainsaws
- Take care of shrubs, bushes and large hedges using tall ladders and mechanical hedge trimmers
- Winter pruning of shrubs and hedges, knowledge of small scale tree pruning
Skills and Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and provide a clean drivers abstract
- Must be capable of safety operating a pickup and preferably a trailer
- Must have at least 2 years of landscaping experience
- Must have own transportation to morning staging location (subject to change)
- Must have an understanding of plant material, soil types, pest control, irrigation systems and landscape construction methods
- Must be able to pick up and handle up to 23 kg (50 pounds)
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
Assets:
- CHT, CLP or BCLNA Horticulture designation or any horticulture training
