Our Finance team plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations. As a Junior Finance Specialist/Financial analyst, you will help maintain accurate accounting and reporting systems, supporting the organization’s overall efficiency and growth.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Prepare and post general ledger journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
· Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
· Support cash management activities, including cash position reporting and cash flow trend forecasting.
· Prepare asset, liability, and equity account entries by compiling, reviewing, and analyzing financial information.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations.
· Prepare monthly financial reports and variance analyses to support management decision-making.
· Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
· Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support the enhancement of financial systems and procedures.
· Analyze financial data and assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports and management presentations as required.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting, or a related role (co-op and internship experience may be considered).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify variances, investigate discrepancies, and recommend solutions.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, evidenced by the ability to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports with minimal errors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis functions.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software; familiarity with financial reporting and reconciliation processes is preferred.
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and accounting standards quickly, and apply them effectively in daily work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and supporting enhancements to financial systems, controls, or reporting processes.
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
