We are seeking experienced high-rise formwork carpenters with proven proficiency in flying table systems, vertical formwork installation, and core construction. The ideal candidates are comfortable working at heights with fall protection, and skilled in handling complex structural elements such as precast stairs, elevator shafts, and core walls. Strong knowledge of safety practices, precision layout, and coordination with crane operations is essential to ensure efficiency and quality on large-scale high-rise projects.
Responsibilities
- Reading and Interpreting Blueprints
Reviewing structural drawings, architectural plans, and specifications to understand dimensions, layouts, and formwork requirements.
- Measuring and Laying Out Work
Accurately marking reference lines, elevations, and grid points on decks or slabs to ensure proper alignment of formwork systems.
- Building and Assembling Formwork
Constructing wall, column, slab, and core forms using wood, plywood, steel, aluminum, or modular formwork systems.
- Installing Formwork Systems
Positioning, plumbing, and securing formwork panels, gang forms, or tables to exact dimensions for vertical and horizontal elements
- Ensuring Formwork Safety and Stability
Bracing, shoring, and securing formwork structures to prevent collapse or shifting under concrete loads.
- Stripping and Dismantling Forms
Removing formwork after concrete has gained sufficient strength, ensuring the concrete finish is not damaged in the process.
- Repairing and Maintaining Formwork
Cleaning, patching, and repairing reusable formwork materials (panels, ties, clamps) for future use.
- Collaborating with Other Trades
Coordinating with crane operators, riggers, rebar installers, concrete finishers, and site supervisors to keep work efficient and on schedule.

Qualifications
- 5 + Years of formwork experience.
- High-Rise Formwork Experience – Demonstrated proficiency with flying table systems, vertical formwork, and core construction on multi-story projects.
- Work at Heights Certification – Ability to safely perform duties at elevated levels, with current fall protection training.
- Technical Skills – Strong ability to read blueprints, perform precise layout, and install formwork for complex elements such as precast stairs, elevator shafts, and shear walls.
- Safety and Compliance Knowledge – In-depth understanding of occupational health and safety standards, rigging practices, and crane coordination.
- Teamwork and Reliability – Proven track record of working effectively within large crews, maintaining productivity, and meeting high-rise construction schedules
- Education - Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Journeyman carpenter or equivalent.
