RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Experience & Brand Standards
- Set up, maintain, and restock the Staybridge “Morning Social” / daily breakfast buffet according to IHG brand standards for presentation, freshness, and food safety.
- Greet guests warmly, offer assistance, and ensure a friendly and welcoming breakfast atmosphere.
- Monitor buffet items throughout the shift, ensuring food is fresh, temperatures are correct, and items are replenished promptly.
- Keep the breakfast area, dining room, and service stations clean, tidy, and inviting at all times.
- Assist guests with special requests (high chairs, dietary needs, take-away bags when asked).
- Report any guest concerns, feedback, or unusual issues to the Supervisor/Manager immediately.
Operational Responsibilities
- Reliable and consistent attendance for scheduled morning shifts is A MUST!
- Set up and break down the breakfast buffet, including food preparation tasks such as basic baking/heating, portioning, and arranging items according to brand menu and presentation/serving standards.
- Ensure all food handling and storage meet health regulations and IHG guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen prep area, dish room, dining room, and service equipment during and after service.
- Wash dishes, small wares, and kitchen utensils as needed; return items to proper storage areas.
- Track and communicate low stock items for ordering; assist or process ordering if assigned such task.
- Handle equipment properly (ovens, toasters, coffee machines, waffle makers, dishwashers) and report any malfunction immediately.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety standards, including proper food temperatures, labeling, storage, and sanitation.
- Comply with local health guidelines and Staybridge hygiene procedures.
- Wear appropriate uniform and PPE and maintain proper personal hygiene according to food-service requirements.
- Adhere to hotel emergency and security procedures, assisting guests as needed.
Teamwork & Communication
- Coordinate with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams during peak times to support guest needs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors about supply needs, equipment issues, or unusual situations.
- Support teammates when the breakfast area is busy to maintain guest satisfaction and smooth flow.
- Attend scheduled meetings, briefings, and training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Reliability and punctuality are essential for early morning shifts.
- Previous experience in food service, hotels, or customer service is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic food handling or possession of a Food Handler Certificate is an asset.
- Friendly personality with strong guest-service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift items up to 30 lbs, bend, and carry trays or boxes.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Basic English communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
