Overview
Revelstoke Community Housing Society (RCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing, managing, and promoting a range of affordable housing options within the city of Revelstoke that are accessible to residents. (RCHS) is seeking to fill a Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) position this summer, in the capacity of Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Act as a point of contact for the Society, answering calls, emails, and delegating communications
- Assist with managing the website, membership newsletter, and social media channels.
- Data entry in the property management system to assist Operations in maintaining an asset inventory
- Organize and maintain a physical and digital filing system
- Work with the bookkeeper to ensure all bookkeeping tasks are completed, and financial reports are prepared.
- Research potential grant opportunities and criteria. Track existing grant reporting.
- Assist with organizing meetings, open houses, and conference planning
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Background working in the social sector, public policy, sales, or office admin support
- Interest in the social sector or public policy
- Secondary School graduate, working towards a diploma or degree is a plus
Attributes
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with respect, dignity, inclusivity, and accountability
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word and Excel) and QuickBooks
- Familiar with additional programs like Asana, Canva, or demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly

- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs employee criteria
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; International students are not eligible.
