Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying finishing coats to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring smooth and professional results. This role requires a strong understanding of construction painting techniques, blueprint reading, and general maintenance person skills to support various aspects of our projects. The Taper will work closely with carpenters, painters, and other trades to deliver high-quality craftsmanship on time and within scope.
Duties
- Apply joint compound and taping materials to drywall seams and corners to create smooth surfaces.
- Sand, finish, and prepare surfaces for painting or further finishing work.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or technical drawings to accurately execute taping and finishing tasks.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for surface preparation and finishing.
- Assist with caulking, patching, and minor carpentry tasks as needed to ensure surface quality.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris properly.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting, drywall taping, or finishing work.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading.
- Maintenance Person experience is highly desirable for supporting various project needs.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and follow detailed instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on achieving smooth, flawless finishes.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
