POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a hardworking and versatile General Laborer with occasional forklift operation responsibilities to join our busy warehouse team. The ideal candidate will assist with various warehouse tasks, working on and off the production line sorting/grading, packaging, boxing, moving materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. This role may require occasional operation of a forklift to include loading/unloading of trucks as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately and efficiently sort and grade material according to guidelines.
- Safely operate production line equipment, including circular saws, branders, and shrink-wrap machines.
- Pick, wrap, and stage orders for shipping or delivery, following pick lists or shipping orders.
- Assist with inventory control by maintaining accurate records of stock movement, conducting stock checks, and reporting discrepancies.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely to move products, materials, and pallets within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers efficiently while ensuring goods are handled with care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, keeping aisles clear and materials stored securely.
- Follow all warehouse safety protocols, including proper PPE use and OSHA compliance; promptly report hazards or incidents.
- Conduct regular inspections and minor maintenance of forklifts and other equipment, reporting issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to maintain workflow efficiency and meet operational deadlines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English (remote collaboration required).
- Forklift certification in British Columbia, or ability to be certified upon hire.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus
- Experience with mechanical equipment and production line operation
- A valid BC driver’s license
