Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant to join our dynamic food service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing food items, handling transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the food industry, including food preparation, cashiering, and sanitation procedures. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential. The position involves working in a fast-paced setting where attention to detail and time management are crucial to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently while providing friendly service
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Manage cash register operations, including processing payments and giving change
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Assist in stocking supplies and restocking items as needed during shifts
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers, addressing any questions or concerns
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience with food preparation and serving in a fast-paced setting is advantageous
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy hours to ensure timely service
