Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Plumber to join our team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in plumbing systems, construction, and maintenance work, providing a valuable foundation for a career in the trades. The Apprentice Plumber will work under the supervision of experienced plumbers to learn essential skills and contribute to various plumbing projects. Candidates should possess a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and an interest in building technical expertise in plumbing and related trades.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and components.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to assist with the installation of plumbing systems.
- Assist in the installation of pipes, fittings, fixtures, water heaters, drainage systems, and other plumbing equipment.
- Support the inspection and testing of plumbing systems to identify leaks and ensure proper operation.
- Follow all applicable plumbing codes, company standards, and safety procedures.
- Work alongside plumbers and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues under the guidance of a licensed plumber.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Accurately document work performed and assist with project-related paperwork as required.
Qualifications
- Registered Plumber Apprentice (all levels encouraged to apply).
- Commitment to learning the plumbing trade and developing technical skills.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and installation practices is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings is considered an asset.
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid G Class driver's licence with reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently when required while following direction from licensed plumbers.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
- Prior experience in construction, carpentry, HVAC, or maintenance is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
