Position Summary
We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate
Dietary Aide & Housekeeping Associate to join our team in Southampton, ON. This dual-role position plays a vital part in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and understands the importance of infection prevention, food safety, and respectful service in a Long-Term Care setting.
Key Responsibilities Dietary Support
- Assist with meal preparation and portioning according to standardized recipes and dietary plans
- Serve meals and beverages in a courteous and respectful manner
- Set up and clear dining areas before and after meals
- Operate dishwashing equipment and assist with pot washing
- Follow dietary restrictions, texture modifications, and special diets as directed
- Maintain food safety standards and comply with public health regulations
Housekeeping Duties
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, washrooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces
- Perform routine and deep cleaning tasks as assigned
- Handle and dispose of waste and linen according to infection control standards
- Replenish supplies in resident and common areas
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current Food Handler Certificate required
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) - must be less than 6 months old
- 2 step TB test - must be less than 6 months old
- Up-to-date immunizations (Flu and COVID-19 as per facility policy)
- CPR and 1st Aid
- N95 Mask Fit Test
- WHSA/WHMIS
- Physically able to perform cleaning and lifting duties
- Compassion, empathy, and respect for elderly residents
- Commitment to resident privacy, dignity, and culturally sensitive care
