Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Grocery Associate to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining store merchandising, and ensuring smooth checkout operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping customers find what they need. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or cashiering are highly valued to enhance the shopping experience for diverse customers.
Ideally, the preferred applicant would be an individual willing to cross train in a variety of roles or departments.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in locating products and answering their questions with professionalism and courtesy
- Operate POS systems efficiently for checkout and returns, handling cash, credit, and digital payments accurately
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is properly labeled and presented according to store standards
- Conduct product demos or provide information to promote sales of featured items or new products
- Upsell related products to increase sales while maintaining a positive shopping environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, checkout area, and stockroom
- Manage inventory levels through merchandising and stock replenishment tasks
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in-person with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Support team members with time management to ensure tasks are completed promptly during shifts
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred but not required
- Bilingual skills (English and additional languages) are a plus to serve diverse customer bases
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when needed
- Familiarity with merchandising techniques, product demos, and upselling strategies is advantageous
- Demonstrated time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during shifts

Pay: $15.65-$18.00 per hour
