Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of a busy healthcare office in SW Edmonton. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic records systems. This role requires a professional who can manage administrative functions efficiently while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Office Manager will play a key role in maintaining a smooth workflow, supporting staff, and delivering exceptional patient service.
Duties
- Supervise front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out processes
- Manage human resources functions such as staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations
- Oversee billing, coding, and insurance claims processing using Dentrix and other electronic medical records platforms
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with privacy laws and healthcare standards
- Assist with budgeting, supply management, and financial reporting to ensure operational efficiency
- Coordinate with dental and medical professionals to facilitate smooth clinic operations
- Ensure adherence to healthcare protocols, including infection control and safety procedures
- Support staff development through ongoing training and professional development initiatives
- Handle patient inquiries and resolve administrative issues promptly
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Office Manager within dental or medical offices, preferably with hospital or acute care settings
- Strong familiarity with Gold, electronic medical records systems, and medical terminology
- Prior experience in human resources management, including supervising staff and team leadership
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial management within a healthcare environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Background in nursing or hospital experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to manage administrative workflows efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care standards
- Exceptional communication skills and professionalism in dealing with patients, staff, and external partners
