We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team! Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks to pick up and deliver freight across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshoot mechanical issues as needed to minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any delivery issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse duties such as inventory checks and freight sorting when required.
Experience
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with heavy-duty trucks or similar vehicles.
- Hands-on experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment used in loading and unloading freight.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for transporting goods.
- Basic automotive repair skills or familiarity with vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform detailed pre-trip inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
