Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Site Safety Officer (NCSO) will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines, evaluate and monitor health and safety hazards and develop strategies to control risks on site. The main goal will be to always ensure safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•Conduct all new hire and safety orientations for the designated site.
•Ensure training is completed and employees have equipment and resources to fulfill job requirements.
•Maintain all site safety records.
•Enforcement of company policies and procedures.
•Investigate incidents and complete incident reports.
•Assist with Safety program auditing.
•Perform site audits.
•Ability to travel and stay at field work locations.
•All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirement and Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years field experience in an NCSO or Safety role.
· Excellent knowledge of legislation and procedures.
· Excellent knowledge of potential hazardous material or practices.
· Proficient in MS Office.
· Outstanding organizational skills
· Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
· Team -oriented attitude.
· Good time-management skills
· Great interpersonal and communication skills
· NCSO Certificate.
This position is located at a remote mine site in Northern Saskatchewan. The shift is a 2-weeks on, 2-weeks off rotation, 11-hour workdays with overtime after 8 hours and on weekends.
The successful candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and complete the required training prior to going to site. It is the responsibility of the candidate to get themselves to one of our fly-out points.
