Job Summary
We are seeking part-time, project based skilled and detail-oriented Local Welders and Millwrights to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various welding and mechanical techniques, including SMAW, MIG and TIG welding, and possess a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical systems. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components for diverse projects such as ductwork, construction, and manufacturing applications. The Welders and Millwrights will operate a variety of tools and equipment to ensure high-quality welds that meet safety and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW, MIG and TIG welding on different materials according to detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Operate plasma cutters, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and other fabrication equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to determine welding requirements
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure precision in fabrication and assembly
- Conduct rigging operations when handling heavy components or assemblies using cranes or forklifts
- Assist with machining tasks as needed to prepare parts for welding or assembly
- Ensure proper setup of welding equipment and maintain safety protocols throughout the work process
- Collaborate with team members on assembly projects involving ductwork, structural steel, or other construction elements
- Perform quality inspections on welds to verify strength, appearance, and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in SMAW, MIG and TIG welding within manufacturing or construction environments
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, machining, rigging, and blueprint reading
- Ability to operate plasma cutting tools, press brake machines, forklifts, cranes, and hand/power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, calipers, and basic math for precise measurements
- Knowledge of welding codes and safety regulations applicable to industrial fabrication
- Strong understanding of ductwork fabrication, structural steel assembly, or related construction projects is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Certification in welding techniques such as CWB and B Pressure certifications
